DAY 2 - Thursday, August 22 - Arrive in Cape Town

Arrive in Cape Town, undeniably one of the most beautiful cities in the world. After completing airport formalities transfer from Cape Town Airport to hotel with driver and guide.

DAY 3 -  Friday, August 23 - Full Day Table Mountain and Cape Peninsula Tour

Drive past the pristine beaches of Camps Bay, Clifton and Llandudno – currently one of the hottest real estates in the world – to Hout Bay, a functioning harbor and heart of the local crayfish industry.

After a stop for lunch, it’s on to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where you are able to ride the Funicular to the scenic viewing point where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. The spectacular sea and mountain views are reason enough to make the trip from Cape Town. Amid the rocky landscape – home to mountain zebra, eland, baboons and ostriches – blooms magnificent Cape flora.

Upon our return to Cape Town we will head to the majestic Table Mountain (weather permitting). Table Mountain is the most iconic landmark of South Africa.  It is also the country’s most photographed attraction and its famous cable car has taken millions of people to its top. Table Mountain has become the single most welcoming icon to not only South Africans, but travelers from all over the world.

DAY 4 - Saturday, August 24 - Cape Winelands tour

Travel through the spectacular mountain scenery and lush fertile valleys of the Cape. Taste a mixture of fascinating history and allow yourself to indulge in the pleasures of the renowned Cape Winelands.

Visit Stellenbosch, 45 minutes away from Cape Town, a picturesque village with an interesting history and heritage.  Here we will have a cellar tour followed by wine tasting.  Walk about Stellenbosch town centre visiting the village museum and famous Dorp Street, renown for beauty and tranquility.  Dorp Street displays some of the most precious Cape Dutch colonial houses kept in superb condition. Next, its on to Franschhoek village where we’ll have a second wine tasting.

DAY 5 - Sunday, August 25 - Cape Town

Robben Island

Robben Island

A morning Township tour followed by an afternoon visit to Robben Island, infamous site of Nelson Mandela’s incarceration.

This tour looks at the current social and economic situation faced by those living in Township communities, it also looks at current development programs aimed at improving the lives of people living in these communities.  We will visit a Township Gospel Church and experience their Praise and Worship period.  Then we will take a walk through the Township to learn about life in the community. 

Robben Island is a world heritage site, perhaps best known for the incarceration of anti-Apartheid leaders, including the late Nelson Mandela.  The Robben Island visit includes a return ferry ride, a guided tour of Robben Island and the prison including Nelson Mandela’s cell.  The prison tour will be given by former political prisoners.

DAY 6 - Monday, August 26 - Cape Town to Pilanesberg

Transfer from hotel to Cape Town Airport for flight to Johannesburg. On arrival transfer to Pilanesberg with driver and guide arriving by late afternoon.  In the evening you will go on your first game drive in search of the “Big 5”.

DAY 7 - Tuesday, August 27 - Safari Lodge Stay

Morning game viewing in open safari vehicles where you may have a chance to see not only the large majestic beasts but also the smaller mammals, birds and insects. After lunch, relax at the lodge before setting out for your afternoon game drive.

DAY 8 - Wednesday, Agust 28 - Return to Johannesburg

Morning game drive and breakfast at the lodge. Checkout, transfer from lodge to Johannesburg hotel with driver & guide. Short stop for shopping enroute to Johannesburg. Rest of day is at leisure.

DAY 9 - Thursday, August 29- Soweto - Apartheid Museum

After breakfast depart for a full day Soweto Tour including Mandela House and the Hector Pieterson Museum.  Enjoy lunch at Sakhumzi Restaurant in the heart of Soweto.

DAY 10 - Friday, August 30 Apartheid Museum/Departure

Breakfast at the hotel and then checkout. Embark on a full day Apartheid Museum tour with driver and guide. Lunch at Chez Alina.  Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
